Ten years after his death, the name Rudolf Jusits no longer has the significance it once did in the contemporary theater world, despite having already been regarded as an exceptional talent earlier in his career. As an established Actor and Director, Jusits acted on major Viennese stages as well as in the Off-sector, on films and in television. more » ... pring-board transitioning young theater folks into prosperous careers. The primary focus lies on the 1970's, since changing the fixed structures of the theater landscape took place as a result of global student protests and the preceding 1968 movement for democratization. In this period, various theaters started to constitute collectives throughout the world, one of which was Austria's Theater of Courage in 1971. Rudolf Jusits' inception at the Courage coincides with the formation of the collective. For this reason, the interest of my analysis also lies in the discovery, implementation and constitution of this collective with Stella Kadmon, as well as in the reconstruction of Jusits' artistic development during this period at the Theater of Courage.
