The title compound, C 27 H 33 N 3 O 7 , isolated from the marinederived fungus Aspergillus sydowi and also known as verruculogen, contains six fused rings. The indole portion of the molecule adopts a planar conformation with a maximum deviation of 0.022 (2) A ˚. The six-membered ring with one N atom has a half-chair conformation, the six-membered ring with two N atoms has a boat conformation and the terminal five-membered ring has an envelope conformation.
