This paper consists of a tutorial on the Augmented Lagrangian based Alternating Direction Inexact Newton method (ALADIN) and its application to distributed model predictive control (MPC). The focus is - for simplicity of presentation - on convex quadratic programming (QP) formulations of MPC.
