A Fault Tolerant Technique for Nanocomputers: XOR Multiplexing

In emerging nanotechnologies, due to the manufacturing process, a significant percentage of components may be unreliable. In order to make systems based on unreliable components reliable, the design of fault tolerant architectures will be necessary. This paper presents a fault tolerant technique for future nanocomputers, namely, XOR/XNOR multiplexing. more » ... function as XOR or XNOR. Bifurcation theory is used to analyze fault tolerant ability of the system and the results show that XOR/XNOR has a high fault tolerant ability. Similar to NAND multiplexing, this fault tolerant technique is potentially useful for future nanoelectronics.
