On Terms of Correction in using a Concave Grating with Large Ruled Spacing

The great advantage gained in the resolving power of gratings by enlarging the ruled space called forth recently the necessity of ruling gratings of such dimensions, that the corrections of higher order, which were formerly neglected, must sometimes be taken into account.
