... oretical background there are the definitions of journalistic quality from the perspective of various authors and the definitions and functions of the regional television stations. Data from the interviews of the employees and the questionnaires of the spectators flows into the empirical part. Based on the assumption of the literature about qualitative social research the interviews were transcribed and afterwords evaluated with the computer program MAXQDA. The quantitative questioning was made with a structural list of questions and afterwords were evaluated with the computer program SPSS. The analysis of the data material from the interviews prove that all questioned employees would position there transmitter in the Styrian media scenery completely in the front in comparison to other transmitters. However, the questioned spectators see the transmitter of Styria 1 TV more in the middle. There are further differences in the assessment of the technical quality, the program creation and the variety of the subjects.
