Colias Behrii, Edw.Egg.—Spindle shapted, a little contraced just before the tip, with low longitudinal and transverse ridges, which divide the surface into shallow, rectangular parallelograms. Length, 1.3 mm.; width, .6 mm. The eggs are laid singly on the upper side of the leaves of a species of ground huckleberry, its food plant.First stage.—Head rounded, dark brown; width; .25 mm. Body of normal shape, sordid whitish, apparently without marks; minutely pilose.
