On account of worldwide increasing flows of migration, a large number of people from different countries are employed in various fields of occupation and are clients of diverse health and social services, which has caused an intensified discussion concerning intercultural interaction and coinciding problems. more » ... disabilities and their parents. This thesis concentrates on the work of early intervention specialists and their cooperation with the parents of such children in Austria. It shows the difficulties und problems they have to face, and it tries to find the relevant competences early intervention specialists should have or acquire in order to be able to work effectively with the parents and to contribute to the development of children with disabilities.
