Table 1. Culture-isolation from dermatophytosis by KOH method * Tinea corporis and Tinea cruris Collect the test sample from the lesion onto a glass slide. Put a few drops of KOH solution. Cover with a cover glass. Warm gently on a heating plate (60-80), for 2-5 minutes. Press gently on the cover glass and thin the sample if it is thick. Examine the specimen under the low power of the microscope. Confirm the pathogenic elements under the high power of the microscope.
