FORMAÇÃO DOCENTE EM QUÍMICA: ESTUDO DE CASO ENVOLVENDO UM CURSO UNIVERSITÁRIO

This article presents a study about the Teacher Training Degree in Chemistry of a federal university located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul -Brazil. The purpose is to analyze the main characteristics of the curricular structure (and its relation with the Brazilian context of teacher education) and the view of university professors regarding the professional profile of the egress. more » ... estionnaire containing open and closed questions. The data obtained were interpreted through content analysis. The results indicate that the curricular structure does not seem to adequately emphasize the theoretical and practical knowledge about the educational systems considering the total workload and the disciplines analyzed. Although teachers point out that the professional profile of the Chemistry teacher must go beyond the training to the domain of specific knowledge, they do not seem to perceive the curricular inadequacies verified, with a possible signaling that the formative contribution of the course to the teaching exercise does not have the desired reach.
