This article presents a study about the Teacher Training Degree in Chemistry of a federal university located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul -Brazil. The purpose is to analyze the main characteristics of the curricular structure (and its relation with the Brazilian context of teacher education) and the view of university professors regarding the professional profile of the egress.
