On the Physiology of Amoeboid Movement

It was shown in the first paper of this series 15 that amoeboid activity was affected by certain changes in the conditions of the medium in the same way as certain other forms of contractility. This suggested that some fundamental mechanism of contractility was similar in all these cases.
