The switched reluctance motor drive for distributed generation
1999 IEEE Africon. 5th Africon Conference in Africa (Cat. No.99CH36342)
Deregulation in the US power industry is the driving force behind d i s t r i i e d generation. Rural electrtfication in developing countries is providing additional impetus for the development of these technologies. High-speed gas turbine generators have advantages of cost effectiveness, reliability, high power density, low maintenance and offer an effiient solution for distributed generation. The switched reluctance machine is a rob& machine techndogy suited for mcient operation with the gas turbine as a &aft coupled high-speed generator.
