Recently, the thermal therapy using HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is noticed as an effective therapy for cancer in the medical field. In this therapy, it is important to examine the transmission of the ultrasound and the temperature distribution of the tissue around the cancer. more » ... th of ultrasound is very short. Therefore, in this study, we develop an effective simulation solver using the voxel finite element method. In this method, the calculation cost is as low as the finite deference method, and the robustness of the finite element method is combined. In this paper, the FE formulation of wave propagation analysis of ultrasound with perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary is presented. The effectiveness of the present method is demonstrated by some numerical examples.
