Endosporulating cyanobacterium Sphaerocongregus is reported for the first time from the cherty hand of the Lower Bhander Limestone Formation. Bhander Group exposed around Narsingharh in Damoh District, Madhya Pradesh. Individual colonies are globose and contain closely packed globular cells. The cells get arranged in the form of a loose colony after the dissolution of the encircling organic sheath.
