flower drop in response to several concentrations of ethylene (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1 and 2 µl l -1 ) over 96 h. High concentrations (0.5-2 µl l -1 ) promoted abscission of open and unopened flowers, while lower concentrations (0.1-0.2 µl l -1 ) induced abscission of unopened buds preferentially.
