In order to monitor ablation dynamics at the fiber tip in contact Ho:YAG laser ablation, we studied a simple probe method in vitro. The He-Ne laser wasdelivered through a single silica glass fiber with Ho:YAG laser for ablation.The time-history of the back-scatterimg probe light which was produced by the cavity at the fiber tip was measured at the laser incident end of the fiber.
