The aim of this study is to determine the vocabulary and common vocabulary of the primary school 4th grade Turkish textbooks prepared by Ministry of National Education (MEB) Publications and Koza Publications, and to determine the rate at which the 1000 most frequently used Turkish words (according to Turkish Frequency Dictionary prepared by Aksan et al.) are included in these textbooks.
