The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of fluid on structure. The previous our report developed analysis flow using virtual mass methoad of MSC Nastran for fluid modeling. This study focused on double cylindrical structure which was intended for verification problem in the previous our report, and suppression pool in advanced boiling water reactor (ABWR) nuclear power plant was selected as the target structure, three-dimensional finite element model of the ABWR building with large
more » ... quipment inside the building were used in the analysis. For comparison, the finite element model with no fluid in suppression pool was developed. To evaluate the effect of fluid on facilities near the suppression pool, maximum acceleration of reinforced concrete containment vessel and reactor pressure vessel pedestal, which are located near the pool, were evaluated in the analysis. The results were compared with each other, and we found that the influence of fluid in suppression pool on the facilities near the pool is small.
