Teaching writing skills in ESL classrooms through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is still very discouraging despite the existence of many studies showing positive effects of using ICT in the teaching and learning process. Therefore, this research focused on the implementation of digital comics to emphasize on the writing of social expressions alongside inculcating interest in writing among the pupils. This mixed method research was conducted among 20 Year 5 respondents of intermediate proficiency from 2 different sub-urban schools in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor and Batu Pahat, Johor. The data that was collected through document analysis, semi-structured interviews and observations were further analyzed to identify the outcome of using digital comics to improve pupils' writing of social expressions. It was proven, through this research, that the use of digital comics was successful in showing evident progress in the pupils' writing of social expressions as well as in sustaining their interest in the writing process. Therefore, it could be concluded that digital comics is an effective tool to increase pupils' ability to write a good variety of social expressions.
