... maktır. Nitel araştırma desenlerinden bütüncül tek durum deseni ile yürütülen çalışmanın verileri, 2018/2019 eğitim-öğretim yılının 2. dönemi boyunca toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, benzeşik örnekleme yöntemine uygun olarak seçilen 23 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veriler; yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, katılımcı gözlemci notları, açık uçlu anket ve bilimsel araştırma raporlarından elde edilmiştir. Ardından veriler, 1. araştırma sorusunu cevaplamak için tümevarımsal, 2. ve 3. araştırma sorularını cevaplamak içinde betimsel yoldan analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda, öğrencilerin bilimsel araştırmaya yönelik görüşlerinin, problem çözme ve etik kodlar; bilimsel araştırma uygulama becerilerinin ise; araştırma konusunun belirlenmesi ve sınırlandırılması, bilgi toplama ve rapor hazırlama şeklinde olduğu saptanmıştır. Son olarak öğrencilerin bilimsel araştırmalarını, çoğunlukla 1. ve 2. seviyeden yaptıkları tespit edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda sosyal bilimler olarak sosyal bilgiler yaklaşımının uygulamaya geçirilmesi önerilebilir. Anahtar Sözcükler: Sosyal bilgiler dersi, durum çalışması, bilimsel araştırma uygulamaları, beceri Abstract In the Social Studies Course Curriculum prepared by Ministry of National Education (MoNE) for secondary schools, scientific research was emphasized. However, the potential implications of scientific research skills in the context of the social studies course have not been fully elucidated. In this context, the aim of the research is to determine the views and application skills of 7th grade students in the social studies course towards scientific research. In addition, it is aimed to determine the students' level of conducting scientific research. The data of the study, conducted with a holistic single case study, which is one of the qualitative research designs, were collected during the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. The study group of the research consisted of 23 students selected in accordance with the homogeneous sampling method. Data were obtained from semi-structured interviews form, the participant observation notes, open-ended questionnaire and scientific research reports. Then, the data were analyzed in an inductive way to answer the first research question, and descriptively to answer the 2nd and 3rd research questions. As a result of analyzes, it was determined that the students' views on scientific research were in the form of problem solving and ethical codes. The scientific research skills of the students were determined as limiting the research subject, gathering information and preparing reports. Finally, it was found out that the students conduct their scientific research mostly at level 1 and level 2. In this context, it can be suggested that social studies approach as social sciences should be implemented.
