Correspondence. 65 phylogenetic importance of the type of laticiferous element found in Evonijvius and certain Hippocrateaceae was treated in greater detail, and a table was drawn up to show how the type of laticiferous element found in Euphorbiaceae, Apocynaceae, etc , on the 6ne hand, and the articulated latex-vessels (Cichoriaceae, Papaveraceae, etc.) on the other, might both have been derived from the elements in question.
