INFLUENCE OF MICROSTRUCTURE ON ACOUSTIC EMISSION ALONG HYSTERESIS LOOP OF POLYCRYSTALLINE FERRIMAGNETS

The acoustic emission AE in stoichiometric YIG samples has been investigated as a function of microstructure; the grain size Dm ranges from 2 to 30 pm, the porosity p from 0.4 to 12 % . AE is always proportional to the hysteresis losses. AE increases with Dm and with llp, but Dm is the dominant parameter.
