Nonlinear least squares - An aid to thermal property determination

Nonlinear least squares techniques are applicable to solving problems associated with thermal property determination. Of the techniques discussed in this paper, the method of Peckham is shown to be the most efficient. Effective thermal conductivity values were determined using in-depth thermal response data from both atmospheric and reduced pressure tests. As shown, the predicted values compare favorably with measured thermal conductivity results. The results of this study show that the
