In this paper, a novel technique to develop multifrequency microstrip patch antennas with polarization diversity or circular polarization is presented. The proposed approach consists of exciting modes with orthogonal polarizations in microstrip patches partially filled with Composite Right/Left-Handed (CRLH) cells.
