Synthesis and applications of two acyl hydrazides, 2-hydrory-5-metholybenzhydrazide and 3-nitro-5-methorxysalicydrazide, have been described. The acyl hydrazides and their derivatives with the carbonyl compounds have been found to exhibit fluorescence in UV light.
