Growingnumberofscholarshavenotedthatracismmaythriveandpersevereinexplicit,blatantforms intheonlinecontext.LittleresearchexistsonthenatureofracismontheInternet.Incontributing tothisemergingyetunderstudiedissue,thecurrentstudyconductedaninductivethematicanalysis toexaminepeople'sattitudetoward(a)howtheInternethasinfluencedracism,and(b)howpeople mayexperienceracismontheInternet.Thethemesrepresentedinthispapershowthattheincreased

Some of the themes explicated positive influences in which peoplewerealsoabletoexpressandformanti-racistonlinemovements,andconfrontracistusers bytakingadvantageoftheincreasedanonymity.Intermsofhowracismwasexperiencedonthe Internet,theauthoridentifiedthefollowingthemes:vicariousobservation,racisthumor,negative racialstereotyping,racistonlinemedia,andracistonlinehategroups.Implicationsforfutureresearch onracismonInternetisdiscussed.
