The writer would like to add a few general remarks on some of the technical difficulties encountered in using this tool in the laboratoiy. Bentonite suspensions are very unpleasant to work with. When they come in contact with most metals, including alloys of iron and lead, they flocculate, coagulate, and lose their properties
