Proximal humeral fractures typically occur in elderly patients and lead to significant functional disorders. There are many different nonsurgical and surgical treatment options for these injuries, including immobilization and early physical therapy, percutaneous K-wires fixation, plate osteosynthesis, intramedullary nailing and shoulder arthroplasty.
