This paper presents the problem definition and the related research activities on the modeling, simulation, design and implementation of an automatic material handling system in a batch production environment. The colored and timed Petri nets are used to model and sirnulate the automatic material handling system. The Petri net modeling and simulation enable the detemiination of the des@ parameters of an automatic guided vehicle and an automatic storagehetrieval system, and also the estimationdoi:10.1109/isie.1997.651812 fatcat:y4smsvy5vnai7pb3n7japjliae
