1. A root promoting substance (or substances) was demonstrated in the leaves of Portulaca. This substance moved from leaf to the cut end of stem cutting after the stem was cut. 2. The substance moved more slowly from leaf to stem in darkness than in light, but the movement of substance itself doesn't require light. 3.
