... hat procurement's primary role is to obtain goods and services in order to fulfill the intern needs of the organization. Procurement should be seen as a strategic function. Because of its importance, optimization of procurement process is an ongoing task for every organizations. Using information technology (IT) is the key leading to success of the organization. The main purpose of this paper is to show how the information technology provide supports for the procurement process. This paper was divide into two main parts. The first part contains the basis of procurement and the information technologies, which are being used in procurement. The second part will represent how procurement with IT support works and its benefits. The results show that not only does information technology help with strategic analysis to deliver better necessary foundation for developing procurement strategies and decisions, but also is a tool to optimize the operational activities.
