Oxygen‐depolarized cathodes (ODC) were developed for chlor‐alkali electrolysis to replace the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) by the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) providing electrical energy savings up to 30 % under industrially relevant conditions.
