Experimental Study of the Phenomenon of Droplet Impact upon a Liquid Surface
2016
Journal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
This paper experimentally studied the dynamic behavior of a droplet impacting upon a liquid film, by investigating the effects of the droplet velocity and thickness of the liquid film on the impact behavior of the droplet. The formation of the crown, central jet, and disintegrating droplet from the central jet were visualized by time-delay photography. The time evolutions of the diameter and height of the crown and the height of the central jet were obtained, and the size of the disintegrating
