Librarianship is one of the emerging, growing and full-fledged profession. Librarianship is also a choice of career for someone who loves to serve people's interest. Librarian is the information collector, preserver and disseminator. It is also one of the best choices of career to be undertaken among the different type of career choice. In Nagaland, people are not aware of Library and Information science as a choice of career. So, the study is made on the four selected higher secondary school

St. Paul higher secondary school, Hebron higher secondary school, North town higher secondary school and St. Joseph higher secondary school of Dimapur focused on class 11 and class 12 to make them aware about the availability of Library and Information science as a choice of career. The study found that the students were not aware of the subject Library and Information science and responded they will like to choose librarianship as a career choice. In Nagaland, only ICFAI university offers Library and Information science subject in B.A degree. The study found most of the students are not aware of its availability. Therefore, ICFAI university needs to put an effort to make the people aware about the availability of Library and Information Science as a career choice
