In this study, a new type of permanent formed galvanized steel beams fabricated from thin steel plates was developed for improving constructability in reinforced concrete construction sites. The proposed beam employs a set of ribs a set of ribs attached to the side for shear reinforcement; thus the need for installing stirrups at the construction site is avoided. Herein, tests were conducted on ten specimens, and the shear tests result indicated that the ribs fabricated from steel plates

However, the shear performance of the rib was affected by the strength of the rib joint. Therefore, if the rib notch is reduced and the quality management of the rib welding is thoroughly controlled, the ribs of the proposed beam have the potential to replace the rebar stirrup.
