PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF ACTIVELY MANAGED MUTUAL FUNDS AND INDEX FUNDS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

Active management is an important model for investment strategy today. The objective with active management is to produce better returns than those of passively managed funds. The Index funds which are passively managed try to replicate the performance of market index. There is a perennial debate between active management and passive management. The analysis revealed the performance of index funds and actively managed funds on the above indicators are mixed.
