Abstract-Though urban transport data collection is not a new initiative in China, China Urban Transport Database (CUTD) is an integrated database, which supports central and local governments to make appropriate policies of sustainable transport development and to efficiently monitor effects of these policies. In this paper, we propose a CUTD framework which includes user management, data warehouse and application modules. Considering the characteristics of urban transport development in China, we introduce several indicators to assist transport policy making, to evaluate the quality of public transport, and to enrich the global knowledge base of urban transport. CUTD is three-year (2010-2013) project co-financed by Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) and Ministry of Transport of China.
