Social engineering as a threat to it security in times of economic crisis

Economic problems such as the crisis increase the risks of breaking the security of the sensitive business information. The growing threats are coming especially from the dismissed employees, and the social engineers. Moreover the organizations have to react also on the growing opportunities for the management innovation that comes from the development of internet, connectivity and IT mobility. more » ... ny; however it is not without the problems: it brings the new IT security risks and the vulnerability for the company. Therefore during the crisis it is not only necessary to keep the high level of information security, but even to strengthen it, otherwise the credibility and competitiveness of the company may suffer. One of the biggest threats for IT security comes from social engineers that employ the specific techniques for accessing the sensitive information from the companies. The knowledge of their techniques and preparation of efficient preventive measures and procedures may increase substantially the IT security, at it is important ingredient of the successful business development.
