A finite-difference numerical procedure with immersed-boundary capabilities is presented for the solution of the incompressible Navier Stokes equations with up to fourthorder accuracy in time and space. Biased difference stencils are constructed numerically to evaluate derivatives at nodes close to the immersed boundary, so that the order of accuracy in space can be easily modified by choosing the stencil dimension. Numerical tests for flows with moderate Reynolds number are presented to
