ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to evaluate the sad tourism potential of Atça (Sultanhisar-Aydın), one of the places where great massacres and sufferings took place in the Greek occupation. In this context, the level of knowledge of dark tourism of 168 high school students studying at Atça and awareness of dark tourism potential in Atça are discussed in the research. For this purpose, first of all, a visual presentation was made to the students about what the tourism of dark is and the points of dark tourism in Atça and its historical background. After the visual presentation, a questionnaire was applied to determine the knowledge level of dark tourism of high school students and their perceptions and evaluations regarding the points and potential of dark tourism in Atça. T-test and Anova (oneway) tests were used to compare students' perceptions and evaluations. As a result, it was revealed that the students found Atça sufficient in terms of its tourism potential and worth visiting.
