The Ravenscar Profile emerged in 1997 as a most promising approach to bringing mature, predictable and efficient concurrency into real-time systems with integrity requirements. One of the crucial questions that have arisen since is whether the expressive power of the profile would be truly sufficient for the effective construction of such systems.
