Based on ethnopharmacological data and a screening for antibacterial, antifungal, and cytotoxic activity of 38 traditional medicinal plants from Papua New Guinea (Quadri-SpineIli, 2000) Hypericum papuanum RIDLEY was chosen for further phytochemical and biological investigations.
