1) Horizontal optokinetic nystagmus with a homolateral (not contralateral) rapid phase was provoked by destruction of a superior colliculus (coagulation of stratum lemnisci) using stereotaxic method. 2) This directional dominance of nystagmus was never influenced even by adding a labyrinthine destruction contralaterally.
