Experimental examination of trees mechanical stability under soilborne vibrations
2011
Zenodo
The trees stability under transport traffic vibrations is discussed in the paper. It is studying the vibration damping on the stem of several species. Among examined species the most stable to vibrations ones are Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirbel) Franco, Platanus orientalis L., Magnolia kobus Thunb., Corylus colurna L., Acer ibericum M. Bieb. ex Willd., Juglans nigra L., Larix decidua Mill. There are factors of plantborne vibration damping discussed in the paper.
