Fluted activated carbon obtained from fluted pumpkin stem waste can be harnessed as a useful adsorbent for the removal of phenol from aqueous solution. The contact time data was modeled using pseudo first-order, pseudo second order, Elovich, intra-particle and liquid-film diffusion. The kinetic data favored pseudo second-order with regression value of 0.987. Thermodynamic parameters ∆H o , ∆S o , and ∆G o of the adsorption of phenol onto fluted activated carbon were negative which revealed
