It is the principal object of color reproduction in printing that three primary colors of an original are reproduced faithfully on the final print. In this review, relation between halftone dot area of separations and color reproduction of the final print is described, and the color calculation circuits especially the color masking circuit and the (black printer and) UCR circuit of DS color scanners are explained in relation to realization of faithful color reprodu ction.
