Gyubang − gasa " is a f} le of papers that were written by Korean women inthe latter period of era of Joseon Dynasty about theirliving . ln this paper , the authors discuss character − istics of culture of needlework through BanOjil needlework that was written in i' Gyubang − gasa . " As a result of investigation , the fo日 owing assertions can be made : ( 1 ) needlework was considered one of the most important virtue of women , ( 2 ) mother and daughter fostered a sense of solidarity , not only
more » ... handed down skills , ( 3 ) needlewotk was one of the way of expressing the existence of women and the basis of certifica − tion from society , ( 4 ) for women , married life was an accumu − Iation of painful housework and they accomplished painful housework iike as needlework through working a 闘 night, ( 5 > women tried to overcome painful housework by assimilating herself with a needle. Those characteristics show a fact that the needlework was the Iife of Korean women .
