Ključne reči: bezubost, krezubost, proteze, fiksne protetske nadoknade, mobilne protetske nadoknade Summary: Toothlessness and edentulism are conditions of stomatognathic system which directly reduce functional efficiency of masticatory system. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of prosthetic restorations in the population of Central Serbia respondents. In a descriptive cross-sectional study, medical records of patients aged 20 to 74, who were prosthetically rehabilitated from 1st January 2014 till 1st January 2016 in public health institutions of the cities Kragujevac and Jagodina, were analyzed. 1206 dental records were checked, 577 belonged to female and 629 to male patients; there were 1730 removable dentures and 236 fixed prosthethic restorations. From removable dentures there were 723 complete upper dentures (41.8%), 487 (28.2%) complete lower dentures, 186 (10.8%) partial plate removable dentures in the upper jaw, 334 (19.2%) lower partial plate dentures. From fixed prosthethic restoration (crowns and bridges) most common prosthethic restoration was upper intercanine metal-ceramic crown 80 (33.9%). There is a statistically significant connection between cities and mobile compensation (χ2 test, p = 0.000, Cramer's V = 0.189). Statistically significant connection exists between the age of the respondent and the frequency of fixed restorations (χ2 test, p=0.002, p<0.05). Fixed restorations are significantly more frequent in the group of examinees under 65. The most common prosthetic restoration in the public-health institutions in Central Serbia cities was complete upper denture.
