Abdominal ultrasonography uses the transmission and reflection of ultrasound waves to observe the internal organs through the abdominal wall and can visualize various abdominal anatomical structures. Abdominal ultrasonography was established as an essential part of education for the resident training program in 2017. In addition, an educational accreditation system for the trainers of ultrasonography in the field of internal medicine, including gastroenterology, was developed in 2018.
