The Descriptive Studies of the Three-pattern Prosodic Systems in Okinoshima Dialect: Present and Future
While many findings of the three-pattern prosodic systems in both Ryukyuan and Japanese dialects have recently been achieved, this study focuses on the systems of the Okinoshima archipelago, which have long been reported to have three-pattern prosodic systems since back in the 1950s. Especially focusing on compounds of the Goka dialect in Okinoshima, the study shows that the basic prosodic rule for its compounds is the one in which the pattern of their 'first' members is preserved as the
